Tashiding Travel takes its name from the most sacred Buddhist monastery in the Indian state of Sikkim, in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Tashiding ( Tash-ee-ding ) is just one name that has become woven into my psyche from having grown up in a family who for over 100 years have lived and travelled in these sacred lands. In fact I feel that for my whole life I have been marinading in the spirit of Bhutan, Sikkim and Tibet, having been exposed to their people and their culture for as long as I can remember. Growing up, even the toast rack on the breakfast table was decorated with Tibetan dancers.

It is the enchantment that I felt on my first visits to Bhutan and Sikkim in the early 70’s and in subsequent visits, that now leads me to share something of that experience with others through Tashiding Travel.

On these pages you will find details of upcoming trips to Bhutan and Sikkim, as well to other destinations that each in their own way can bring rest, healing and fun to a tired or restless soul. The Dolphin Retreats in the Egyptian Red Sea have proved to be very popular, some would say life changing. In June 2016 we had our first Retreat on the holy island of Patmos. Such was its success that two more were fully subscribed to in 2017 and dates for 2018 and 2019 are now available..

I hope you will enjoy reading about all of these rare adventures and will feel called or inspired to join me on one of them.
